Could this be the first harbinger of summer? The call is on for would-be blues players, between the ages of 13 and 17, who want in on the eighth annual week-long Blues Camp, organized, as always, by the Montreal International Jazz Festival.

Aspiring guitarists, singers, horn players, harmonica prodigies, pianists, bassists, drummers – you name it – can sign up for an audition from now until April 17 at 5 p.m. Auditions take place April 20 at 10 a.m. at École Marguerite‑De Lajemmerais, 5555 Sherbrooke St. East, corner of De L’Assomption. When the dust settles, 50 musicians will be selected to live the dream, free of charge, from June 30 to July 6 (during the jazz fest, natch)  with music industry professionals guiding them.

The experience ends with the participants playing an outdoor show, with their pro mentors, July 6 on the TD stage.

So get some Buddy Guy or Muddy Waters on the playlist and click here to register and get more details.
